PROJECTS
Alongside my studio practice, I have developed projects that bring together different parts of my creative world. Painting, sculpture and music often meet through exhibitions, collaborations and experiences that have allowed me to explore new ways of creating and sharing my work.
Each project has its own story, shaped by the people, places and ideas I have encountered along the way.
SELECTED PROJECTS
SONQOLLAY-BERLIN
BERLIN 2026
Sonqollay, meaning “my heart” in Quechua, was my solo exhibition presented at the María Reiche Hall of the Embassy of Peru in Berlin in July 2026.
The exhibition brought together paintings, sculptures and textiles from my Renacer collection, alongside works created by children and young people from my art project in Catacaos, Peru. It was a way of bringing together in one space my recent work, my roots and part of the project I develop each summer with children in my hometown.

VIRTUAL CATALOGUE
With the support of the Cultural Foundation of the Banco de la Nación and its director, Cecilia Bernuy, a virtual catalogue was created for Sonqollay.
BECOMING-BEIJING
BEIJING 2025-2026
My sculpture Becoming, from the Renacer collection, was selected to represent Peru at the 10th Beijing International Art Biennale, held from December 2025 to February 2026.
The work speaks of transformation and rebirth, of that inner process in which we leave part of ourselves behind to make way for something new. Being part of a Biennale of this scale was a very special moment in my artistic journey.

THE IMPORTANCE OF ART FOR CHILDREN
CATACAOS-PERU
I strongly believe that art can have an important place in a child's life. It allows children to imagine, express themselves and discover their own way of seeing the world, without being afraid of getting things wrong.
This project grew from my desire to share painting with children from my homeland and to create a space where they could experiment freely with colour and their own ideas. Rather than teaching them how to paint, I wanted them to enjoy the process of creating and to feel that what they imagine has value.
For me, bringing art closer to children is also a way of giving something back to my community, encouraging their curiosity and introducing creativity as a positive habit that can stay with them throughout their lives.
RENACER-LONDON
LONDON, JULY-SEPTEMBER 2025
Renacer was my solo exhibition presented at the Inca Garcilaso Gallery at the Embassy of Peru in the United Kingdom, bringing together paintings, sculptures and mixed-media works developed through my exploration of transformation, identity and roots.
The exhibition brought together different stages of this creative process, where elements of my Peruvian identity meet personal experiences and the idea that transformation does not mean starting again, but moving forward while carrying with us what has shaped us.

SONQOLLAY-LONDON
LONDON 2022
Sonqollay, meaning “my heart” in Quechua, was my solo exhibition at the Inca Garcilaso Gallery at the Embassy of Peru in the United Kingdom.
The exhibition brought together paintings and sculptures from a period of my work in which I explored my roots and Peruvian identity, incorporating elements such as aguayo textiles into my visual language.
The exhibition also included works created by children and young people from my art workshops in Catacaos, alongside a large-scale piece that we created together.

PALOMA NEGRA-MEXICRANEOS
MEXICO, 2021-2025
Paloma Negra began as my contribution to Mexicráneos, an urban art project that transforms monumental skulls into works created by artists from different backgrounds.
My piece pays tribute to Mexico through one of its most emblematic songs, Paloma Negra, from which the work takes its name. Through it, I brought together symbols, colour and references to Mexican culture and traditions, interpreted through my own perspective as a Peruvian artist.
Since its presentation in 2021, Paloma Negra has been exhibited at a number of significant locations across Mexico, including Paseo de la Reforma, the Senate and Congress of the Republic, Parque Bicentenario, Parque Cuautitlán and the Ángel de la Independencia. Its journey continued until 2025, giving the work a public life far beyond its original presentation.
The project also included a lithocranium inspired by Paloma Negra and the painting Amor de mis amores, extending this personal dialogue between Peru and Mexico.
ARTWORK OF THE MONTH
TORRES BICENTENARIO MUSEUM
TOLUCA, MEXICO·2018
In 2018, one of my works was selected as Artwork of the Month by Museo Torres Bicentenario in Toluca, as part of its programme highlighting the work of a selected artist each month.
The selection was a special recognition of my work during my time in Mexico and an opportunity to present my work individually within the museum.

ACORDES DE UNA MUSA
VALLE DE BRAVO, MEXICO 2018
Acordes de una Musa is a tribute to women, to their strength, sensitivity and the many different sides that coexist within them. Through the female figure, music and elements of magical realism, I created a world in which each work expresses a different way of feeling and representing the feminine.
The project was presented as a solo exhibition at the Joaquín Arcadio Pagaza Museum in Valle de Bravo, Mexico, bringing painting and sculpture together in the same space. The exhibition was accompanied by a live musical performance, allowing visual art and music to become part of the same experience.

POETRY & ART
PERU·MEXICO·UNITED KINGDOM
2021- 2025
Over the years, poetry and literature have crossed paths with my visual work in different ways. I have created artworks for book covers and musical projects, collaborating with poets, writers and musicians, while some of my images have been selected to represent literary festivals and events.
This relationship has led me to take part in projects such as the International Primavera Poética Festival, where my works were selected for a poetry anthology for its 10th edition, followed by Romance Poético, which was chosen as the official image for the 11th edition in 2024. I have also participated in the Ricardo Palma Book Fair and the Ayacucho International Book Fair, both in Peru.
Mu visual work has also crossed into music through the creation of cover artwork for a single by singer-songwriter Marcela Navarro.
In 2025, one of my works was selected as the official image for La Feria Liverpool in the United Kingdom, where I also took part in the group exhibition and gave a live musical performance.
For me, these encounters are another way of exploring how an image can accompany a word, a song or a story, creating a dialogue between different creative languages.

MELODIES OF A MUSE
LONDON 2019
Melodies of a Muse was my solo exhibition presented at the Embassy of Peru in the United Kingdom, London, in October 2019. The exhibition continued my exploration of the female figure as a central presence in my work, a world I had been developing through projects such as Acordes de una Musa and Musas.
Through painting and sculpture, the exhibition brought together different interpretations of women, their sensitivity, strength and beauty, within a visual language where figurative art meets elements of magical realism. The exhibition was accompanied by a live musical performance, once again bringing music into my visual world.

MUSAS
PALACIO POSTAL·MEXICO CITY ·2019
Musas was the second chapter of a travelling exhibition that began with Acordes de una Musa in Valle de Bravo and later continued in London as Melodies of a Muse.
Presented as a solo exhibition at Palacio Postal in Mexico City, the exhibition continued my tribute to women through painting and sculpture, exploring different ways of representing their strength, sensitivity and inner world through my language of magical realism.
The exhibition was accompanied by a live musical performance, continuing the dialogue between my visual work and music.
DA VINCI
INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL
MEXICO·2017-2024
My participation in the Da Vinci International Festival developed across several editions between 2017 and 2024, presenting my work at different cultural venues in Mexico and becoming part of an important period in the development of my artistic practice.
One of the most significant moments came in 2018, when I was awarded Second Place in the Sculpture category, with a presentation that brought together three of my works: Woman Ship, The Muse and Her Horse and The Muse. That same year, my participation also extended into music with a concert as part of the festival, bringing together two essential sides of my artistic practice.
Across its different editions, the Da Vinci Festival became a space where I could present the evolution of my work and continue exploring the dialogue between visual art and music.
PAINTING SONGS
PERU 2013 & 2018
Painting Songs grew from my interest in exploring what happens when music and painting meet in the same creative moment. As a singer-songwriter performs their own songs live, I listen and freely translate them into images, painting in real time from the emotions, words and sensations each song evokes in me.
The project began in 2013 with singer-songwriter Eduardo Arauco and took shape again in 2018 with singer-songwriter Marcela Navarro, making each encounter a different, spontaneous and unrepeatable experience.
MINI EXHIBITION CONCERTS
PERU·MEXICO·2014-2015
Mini Exhibition Concerts grew from a desire to bring together two essential parts of my work: music and visual art. At each performance, I performed my own songs while my small and medium-format artworks formed part of the set, transforming the concert space into a small exhibition.
The project included performances in Lima in 2014 and later in Mexico in 2015. The intimate nature of these events allowed me to share not only my songs, but a creative world in which music and painting came together as part of the same experience.

ESENCIA
PERU·2012
Esencia is my debut album and one of the most personal projects in my musical journey. Produced by renowned music producer Jesús “El Viejo” Rodríguez, the album brings together eight of my own compositions and four personal interpretations of songs by other writers, moving between acoustic pop, bossa nova, bolero and different influences from Latin American music.
The songs explore love, heartbreak, and the emotions and experiences that form part of our lives. The album also includes Somos Piura, a song dedicated to my hometown, bringing my roots into what is essentially a very intimate project.
In 2013, Esencia was included in the first-round ballot for the Latin Grammy Awards in the Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album category, marking a significant moment in my journey as a singer-songwriter.
PIURA TO THE WORLD
PIURA·PERU·2012
Piura to the World was an initiative by the Regional Government of Piura, for which I was invited to compose and perform the musical theme accompanying its audiovisual production.
As someone born in Piura, the project was particularly close to me: an opportunity to express my connection to my homeland through music and to be part of an initiative created to share Piura, its identity and its richness with a wider audience.
EN TODAS PARTES
PERU·2010
In 2010, I was selected to take part in En Todas Partes, a national advertising campaign for Cerveza Cristal that brought together artists from different regions of Peru, using music to celebrate the country's cultural diversity and landscapes.
I was chosen to represent Piura as a singer-songwriter, at a time when I was beginning to develop my musical path more actively. Taking part in a campaign that brought together voices from across Peru was one of those early experiences that allowed me to take my music beyond my local surroundings.
