Rose Spirit speaks of the things we carry with us: our roots, the paths we have travelled and the experiences that become part of who we are. Inside the retablo, three sculptural roses handcrafted from Peruvian aguayo fabric appear against a violet sunset, one at the centre and two on the side doors.
The three roses suggest our origin, our journey and our essence, those parts of ourselves that change with time and those that remain. The painted landscape adds a sense of distance and memory, creating an intimate space between what has been lived and what is still to come.
When the retablo closes, the roses on the exterior come together to form a heart. Opening it reveals another world within, a reminder that what we see on the outside is only part of the story, and that each of us carries something deeper within.
