Peruvian Rose is one of my more intimate pieces. At its centre, a small rose handcrafted from aguayo textile is surrounded by a frame of sculpted leaves, as though it were something being carefully kept.
I have always been interested in how a simple object can hold much more than we see at first. For me, this small rose holds something familiar: colours, feelings and memories that are part of who I am.
The soft tones of the frame allow the texture and small details of the aguayo to reveal themselves gradually, creating a quiet piece that invites you to come closer and look.
