Orchid Woman captures a moment of transformation. Her body is completely covered in sculpted orchid petals, as though the boundary between woman and flower has begun to disappear. Her face remains hidden, while her arms stretch back and two orchids emerge from her head.
There is something both delicate and powerful in this transformation. The orchid becomes part of her skin, evoking those moments in our own lives when we change, leave something behind and begin to see ourselves differently.
Her hidden face leaves space to imagine, remember and perhaps recognise something of ourselves in her.
