Mi Perú is a tribute to my country, bringing together in a single piece some of the landscapes, animals and symbols that form part of its history and my own imagination.
Across the surface of the sculpture appear elements of Peru’s National Coat of Arms, alongside figures inspired by the Nazca Lines, including the monkey, hummingbird and spider. The condor, eye, flowers and other images come together around the face, creating a composition that gradually reveals itself as the work is viewed from different angles.
The sculpture is made from resin and fibreglass, then worked and finished by hand with oil paint.
