Melody at Sunset brings together two fleeting moments: the fading light of the day and the instant just before music begins.
At the centre, a violinist emerges from a sculpted flower, her bow raised as if about to play. Around her, a series of circles seems to carry the first notes outwards, across a landscape painted in the warm colours of sunset.
There is a particular feeling in waiting for music to begin, that brief pause when everything becomes quiet and we anticipate what is about to come.
