Golden Flight comes from the idea of movement and having the courage to go beyond what is familiar. The hummingbird appears to leave the surface of the work and cross the frame, entering our space.
Its body is sculpted in resin and its wings are made from aguayo textile. The colour and texture of the fabric contrast with the darker, metallic tones of the frame, while the painted background brings depth to the scene.Through this work, I wanted to capture that moment when we dare to cross a boundary and move towards something new. The hummingbird seems to exist between two places: part of it still belongs to the artwork, while another part has already moved beyond it. That small gesture speaks of moving forward, exploring, and leaving behind, for a moment, what feels familiar.
Technique: Mixed media, oil, resin and aguayo textile on wood.
