Blue Horse brings together the natural strength of the horse with the quietness of its pose. Its head is lowered, creating a moment that feels calm and introspective without losing its sense of strength.
I chose the intense electric blue because, for me, blue can be both introspective and powerful. It gives the piece depth and stillness, while the intensity of the colour keeps it alive and full of energy.
Behind the horse, strips of colourful aguayo spread out like the rays of a sun. Against the electric blue, they bring warmth, texture and a connection to my Latin American roots.
There is a simple thought behind Blue Horse: strength does not always need to be shown through movement. Sometimes it can be found in stillness.
