Cast in bronze, this sculpture depicts a woman in a subtly coquettish pose, poised and self-assured. It was the very first sculpture I created, and it has remained a constant presence in all my exhibitions, like a quiet talisman. In one arm, she gently holds a butterfly, a symbol of transformation and delicate vitality. Resting atop her head is a mask that hints at the boundary between our true selves and the image we choose to present, inviting a more intimate interpretation. Her chest is adorned with two flowers, and she wears checked knickers, a playful nod to the everyday, tinged with theatricality. Her form, elongated and stylised, defies conventional ideals, celebrating a beauty uniquely her own. This muse inhabits the space between mystery, sensuality, and memory.
